- I wonder if "Norwegian Stuffed Cabbage" is "Cabbage Rolls" or what we call
- "Kaalruletter"?
-
- Ingredients:
- 16 cabbage leaves
- 1/2 kg / 1 lb Ground beef
- 1/2 Tb salt
- 1 1/4 Tb potato flour
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/4 tsp ginger
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- approx. 4 dl/a scant qt of milk
-
- Stir meat dough with salt until it stiffens somewhat. Add potato flour and
- seasonings. Add milk, a little at a time.
-
- Boil cabbage leaves in lightly salted water until tender, about 10-15
- minutes. Drain well.
-
- Put a spoonful of meat dough on each leaf. Pack the leaf around the meat
- and tie it with a cotton string.
-
- Simmer the cabbage rolls in lighted salted water for approx. 20 minutes,
- until they are tender and cooked through.
-
- Remove the strings and serve with white sauce to which lots of chopped
- parsley has been added.
